Reopening Update:

We were so close! In order to protect our students and staff, it is with a heavy heart that we must once again postpone our reopening due to COVID. We had planned on being back by the end of this 2021 Summer, but due to the refusal by many to take steps needed to end the pandemic, we must all wait a little longer.

We will reopen as soon as it is safe and financially viable in the current environment. Meantime we will keep everyone updated on when and where the facility will be in early 2022 and appreciate everyone’s patience.

IMS IS HAS MOVED!

Due to required chemical testing from the dry cleaner that previously occupied our 609 Soquel location, IMS has moved and joined forces with Master Chris Highlander, and Gustavo Froes to form the new  Santa Cruz Martial Arts Academy at 728 Water St.

IMS Academy trains everyone from children to champions in a safe and ego free environment. Under former IFPA World Champion Brian Burns and our highly experienced staff, IMS has been the premier Mixed Martial Arts and Kickboxing gym in Santa Cruz and the greater Monterey Bay area since 1995. IMS Academy is a legitimate Mixed Martial Arts school with instructors and students who have fought in MMA, NHB, Olympic Pankration, Boxing and Muay Thai events dating back to 1988. While some schools have chosen to cash in on MMA's new popularity without the proper experience or credentials, the IMS Academy teaches the skill set that makes a true Mixed Martial Arts practitioner. These include Muay Thai Kickboxing, Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling, Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Russian Sambo, and American Catch Wrestling.
